Privacy Policy — SolveTrail: ISEE & SSAT Math

SolveTrail: ISEE & SSAT Math ("the app", shown on your phone as "SolveTrail", Android package com.balanced.isee_ssat_prep) is a math test-prep app for students getting ready for the ISEE and SSAT. It is published by Imran. This policy is short and plain on purpose. Parents: if anything here is unclear, write to us (see Contact).

The short version

• There is no account and no sign-up. The app never asks a student (or anyone) for a name, email address, phone number or photo.
• Practice, progress, readiness scores, streaks and settings stay on the phone or tablet.
• No ads, no analytics, no tracking, no chat, no leaderboard. We never sell or share any data.
• The app goes online for one thing only: checking whether SolveTrail Pro has been bought (see "Purchases").

What stays on the device

Practice history, progress, readiness scores, streaks, goals, test dates and settings are stored only on the device. We cannot see them. Uninstalling the app deletes them from the device.

If Android backup is turned on, Android may copy this app data to the device owner's own Google account so it comes back on a new device. That copy belongs to the account owner and Google; we cannot see it. It is controlled in the device's backup settings.

Purchases

Payments for Pro are handled by Google Play, through the Google account on the device (usually a parent's). We never see card or payment details.

To know whether Pro has been bought, the app uses a service called RevenueCat. When the app opens, and when Pro is bought or restored, it sends RevenueCat:

• a random ID that the app makes up (it is not a name, email or phone number);
• the purchase records for this app from Google Play;
• basic technical details, such as the app version, device model, Android version and the internet (IP) address, which every internet connection includes.

RevenueCat uses this only to confirm the purchase. See the RevenueCat privacy policy and the Google privacy policy.

What we do not do

• No advertising, and no advertising IDs.
• No analytics or tracking tools.
• No location, contacts, camera, microphone or photos.
• No way to talk to other people, and no public profile or leaderboard.
• We never sell, rent or trade any information.

Permissions

• Notifications: for the optional daily practice reminder, turned on in the app.
• Run at startup: to bring the reminder back after the device restarts.
• Vibrate: for small taps of feedback during practice.
• Internet and Google Play billing: only for the purchase check above.

Children's privacy

Many people who use this app are children. We designed it so that no personal information is collected from anyone, children included: there is no account, no email, no name, no free-text box that is sent to us, and no contact with other users. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child's information has reached us in any way, write to us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we ever add an online feature, we will update this page before that version of the app comes out. The date at the top shows the latest version.
